The Sevenoaks Academy side found themselves under the cosh in the National Colts Knock-Out competition against Rosslyn Park. The visitors fielded a heavy but well-drilled pack which seldom released their ample possession to the backs. In the end they did not need to as they scored three tries from close range catch and drive line-outs. The first came after just after five minutes and their game plan was apparent. Oaks were under pressure in the tight throughout which effected the distribution from  scrum-half Woods. The Oaks backs looked faster and capable of causing damage but had no quality possession to work with. Whiting struck a penalty but shortly before the break Park scored their second try. Trailing 12-3 at the turn-around Oaks had a stiff wind behind them and barber started to kick for territory. The back-row combined well from a line-out with Barnes and Hill taking the ball on before Luffingham drove through to score. The conversion was missed but at 12-8 Oaks looked to be staging a comeback. However more of the same from Park yielded another score and when Oaks missed two chances out wide hope began to fade. The pack manfully did what they could but the consistency of the opposition driving took its toll and Oaks gave up a final soft try at the whistle.
