Mark Ridout

‘Extraordinary' would be one word used to sum up the playing career of Mark Ridout. Joining the Sevenoaks set-up in 1979 and being a 1st XV player since 1989, he has now amassed over 200 caps for the club. The achievement is made even more staggering considering Mark plays his rugby in the front row.
A rock in the scrum, Mark has very rarely let the opposition front three get the better of him and can easily lay claim to being the best scrummager that Sevenoaks has ever produced. The Colts Captain at Under 18-level, he also skippered the Extra 1st XV for a season. However the 1st XV is where he has spent the majority of his career, winning the ‘Player of the Year' trophy in 2005/06 season.
His contribution to Sevenoaks RFC was recognised this season as Mark was named a Vice-President of the club - a richly deserved honour for a man who is Sevenoaks through and through.
Not surprisingly, Mark invites England front row legend Jason Leonard to his dinner party, along with a bit of front row eye candy in Kylie Minogue and Kirsty Gallagher. His mates from Sunday School, a drinking club fraternity, fill the last post.
