Sevenoaks Rugby Football Club have been awarded the RFU Active Sports Seal of Approval. It was presented recently by Kent President , Mike Newsome.

The accreditation scheme is a method of examining, maintaining and improving the provision of rugby in the youth section of an active sports club.

" We have been a pioneer of youth rugby for nearly 30 years and currently have over 460 players registered, one of the largest number in the UK," said Andy Shirtcliff Club Chairman. "Thanks to the tireless efforts of many volunteers and our work in the local schools, both primary and secondary, the numbers we cater for has more than doubled in the last 5 years. We are able to provide a safe, effective and child-friendly club environment for the internationals of the future or simply the player who plays for fun. We are innovative in providing the equipment needed to improve players, like junior scrummage machines  and are very aware of our responsiblity for safety as illustrated by the  attendance each Sunday morning of an ambulance service. It is also great to see the high rankings or our sides at county events and the results achieved of  our age groups from our Academy to our Under 7's."
