21st March Kent Finals - Plate Competition
22 Mar 2010
The under 9's needed start the semi final against a strong Cranbrook side in the same way that they finished the quarters last week. Sevenoaks were quickly into their stride with solid defending and direct running and it was only a matter of time before Cranbrook's defence broke. 2 tries each for Oliver Green and George Spice were topped off with a try from the ever present Ewan Martin giving Sevenoaks a convincing 5-0 victory to take them to the Plate final. We were up against a very confident Bromley side who had just knocked out the hosts in their Semi Final. Both teams started nervously in a game that meant so much to all involved. The difference between the teams was again Sevenoaks defence and a superb break away try from Kamram Amromam. The whistle finally came and the 1-0 victory meant that Sevenoaks had won the plate and had not conceeded a try since their first match in the competition.
All players did Sevenoaks Rugby Club proud. The Squad were; Kamram Amromam, George Spice, Jack Anderson, Ewan Martin, James Blunden, Tom Harris, Lucas Ireland, Max Humphrey, Phillip Saunes, Daniel Mamas, Oliver Green, Charlie Corrigan, Sam Cluely.
