8th November - Canterbury festival

A cold start to the day was brightened by the “New” shirts kindly sponsored by Seamus Martin. The team were grateful for the extra layer and certainly looked the part.
First game against a strong Cranbrook side and Oaks held out in the first half but unfortunately lost 3-0.
Second game against Canterbury and the commitment was far better than the previous game. A very tight game with Oaks the eventual winners 3-2 with tries from:
Lucas Ireland, Joe Hayward and Georga Lane.
Third game against Thanet with both sides very evenly matched. Despite some valiant effort we lost 2-1 after a last gasp try from Thanet. Lucas Ireland scored our try.
So the “plate” final was Canterbury vs Sevenoaks with the “Cup” game Cranbrook vs Thanet (Cranbrook won 4-3).
Again a very tight game with some superb defense by Canterbury. Ewan and Joe battled very hard wining a lot of ball in the tackles. The second half was the best Rugby of the day with a real “team” effort resulting in a last minute try from Lucas to win the game 3-2. Tries from:
