Sevenoaks U16's travelled to local rivals Tonbridge Juddians on Sunday & narrowly lost a keenly fought contest.
7 Oak's were initially punished at the start through some poor defending when T J 's crashed over from a tap penalty to take a 5-0 lead. They soon replied though when a speculative chip kick from lock Medhurst was followed up & collected by Saunders who touched down to level the scores. However, missed tackles & then a high ball fumble allowed TJ's to pull clear with 2 further tries.
With scrum half Ayling & winger Bunce pressed into service as emergency back row forwards & the pack winning several balls against the head 7'Oaks's refused to lie down & after squandering several try scoring opportunities, Owen finally released Tan to touch down in the corner, Despite further last minute pressure they failed to conjure the winning score as TJ's held on for a deserved 15-10 victory. The home rematch in 3 weeks is eargly awaited when Oaks will welcome back their county representatives & various injured players.
