Six first half tries set up Sevenoaks U16 best performance of the season so far in a convincing 43-0 win at Westcombe Park on Sunday. Two tries apiece for Ali Edmondson and James Brown and tries from Chris Lapham and Mike Stokes and four conversions from Sam McCorry left the home side trailing 38-0 at half time. Oaks pressured Park from the kick off with fine play from both forwards and backs and were 31-0 ahead before Park found their rhythm late in the first half.
The second half was much more even and Oaks had to turn their mind to some solid defending in the face of strong running from the home side and a yellow card for illegal rucking which reduced Oaks to 14 men after 7 minutes. Park pressed hard but were unable to break Oaks down who were able to regain the initiative when Lapham scored his second try to take the score to 43-0. Park refused to give up and only some determined tackling from man of the match Mike Stokes on the Oaks win prevented Park from scoring.
