Sevenoaks RFC (12) v Bromley RFC (49)

15 Jan 2006

Three tries from Sam Copper and seven conversions from Paul Humphries set up a convincing win for Bromley

Three tries from Sam Copper and seven conversions from Paul Humphries set up a convincing win for Bromley over Sevenoaks at Knole Paddock on Sunday. Short of a number of key players, Oaks started well and held firm for 15 minutes before Ben Smith went over for Bromley’s first try. Relentless Bromley pressure forced three further tries from Sam Copper Rhys Lewis and a second for Smith all converted by Humphries. Oaks fought back and just before half time Michael Stokes went over to score for Oaks converted by Marcus Dupreez to take the score at the interval to 28-7.

Steve Hyson extended Bromley’s lead soon after the interval before Sam Boughton with a clever kick through scored in the corner for Oaks to close the gap to 35-12. Bromley continued to press and two further tries from Copper and conversions from Humphries sealed a convincing Bromley win 49-12.

Oaks played in typically determined fashion throughout and although outgunned, tackled well throughout and fought hard right up to the final whistle.
