A very bad day at the office. The scoreline accurately reflects one of the worst performances from this team for several years. Whether it was the loss to bad weather of the Sunday training sessions leading up to the game or an unfortunate coincidence that the majority of players had a below par game on the same day, the fact remains that the Oaks were comprehensively beaten by a Tunbridge Wells team with a greater appetite for victory. While there will be a lot of soul searching and remedial activity, two things stood out – the Oaks regularly conceded penalties that meant that they were constantly defending in their own half and this in turn limited their opportunities to counter-attack. If there is one positive to be taken it must be that the match against Beckenham next week offers an immediate opportunity to make amends.
