U16s slaughter Park
After several weeks of weather related cancelled matches an initially rusty Sevenoaks U16s recorded in a workmanlike performance on Sunday entertaining Westcombe Park despite losing numerous players to the slopes of Val D'Isare & Chamonix They eventually put their opposition to the sword with an emphatic 57-0 victory.
Oaks overcame the initial difficulty of having a fly half who 1hr prior to the match had alighted from a coach after surviving a weeks skiing. Despite the pre match prediction that Oaks would have to 'stick it up their jumpers' and play a 10 man game the 9 tries created came as a bit of a surprise.
A dominate performance from the pack created enough good ball to win enough matches to last the threequarters a career & after the depleted backline had squandered 3 or 4 gilt edged chances the forwards took it upon themselves to record 5 of the 9 tries scored. 3 of these touchdowns were created by a rampaging display by lock Josh Pettitt before being tactically substituted. Centre Jonny Short (3), Will De Smith (2) Tom Smith, Jamie Owen, Zandi Medhurst & Jack Norton all crossed the line with Dom Saunders & Ollie Shirtcliff adding 6 conversions.
