Cranbrook put up a fierce defence but 2 swerving runs from deep saw Weeks score twice to end the half with Sevenoaks as 15 points to nil leaders. Clearly fired up Sevenoaks added a further converted try from Weeks and a minute later Spark and Day released their backline to allow Pedder to run in under the posts. With a 27 point lead Oaks looked to be cruising to an easy victory but Cranbrook fought back and scored three times to narrow the margin to 8 points before the referee blew for full time much to the delight of a relieved Oaks side.
The Sevenoaks Squad: Ashworth, Crane, Carter, Brown, Day, Harmon-Tatton, McKenzie, Pedder, Spark, Turvey, Weeks and Yeomans. Particular mention is made of Carter, Crane and Harmon-Tatton whose intelligent and relentless forward play gained the possession necessary to allow the backs the opportunity to score.
