Sevenoaks U17s 21 Bromley 19

26 Apr 2010

Last ditch try by old pink boots wins Oaks the trophy!
Sevenoaks Rugby Club's U17 team, voted team of the season by the club,
warmed up for the National Final at Premiership side Northampton Saints on
2nd May, (KO 2.30pm)
by winning the Plate at the Kent 7's yesterday.

Coming back from 19-7 down at half time against Bromley, they won 21-19 in
the final, courtesy of a last
minute try from Charlie Roberts, to bring the number of trophies won this
season to 4.

With Matt Gill, Adam King before his trip to hospital and Tom Lonnergan
providing plenty of quick ball, the backs
had a field day. George Beale got 2 tries, Charlie Roberts 3 in total, Dom
Saunders and Arthur Mc Cormick 2 apiece, with Ollie Shirtcliff converting
all 9.

Squad: Alex Medhurst, Adam King, Tom Lonnergan, Matt Gill, Ollie Shirtcliff,
Dom Saunders, Arthur McCormick, Charlie Roberts, Tom Smith and George Beale.

U17s coach Jon Muchmore said " it's going to be a tough ask to play Old
Northamptonians in their own backyard and given that half their side seem to
play for the Midlands Division, but the boys are looking forward to it and
deserve to be there. The town and county should be very proud of them."

NB Last weeks victorious squad that beat Taunton included Tom Lonnergan.
Apologies for the ommission.
