Sevenoaks U18s 10 Gravesend U18s 0

08 Feb 2010

Carter double sinks gritty Gravesend
Sevenoaks U18s continued their unbeaten league campaign in a hard fought match at the Paddock.
Sevenoaks pretty much dominated the early exchanges with Shirtcliff at scrum half, setting up some good positions from his boot for his forwards, with Thompson, the Naismith brothers and Carter to the fore, to build up some pressure. It was from a lineout on the Gravesend line that Lonnergan charged down the clearance kick for Carter to pounce on the loose ball for a try.
Despite continued territory and possession, Sevenoaks could not add to the score as either Gravesend thwarted every move or the home side butchered some straight forward chances. Gravesend also started to look very dangerous in the backs.
Mid way through the second half, Carter added his second from close range and only some very disciplined defending kept Gravesend out at the end.
Next weekend, 14th Feb, the U17s play their Kent Cup Quarter Final and the U18s return to league duty on 21st Feb.
