Bolstered Pack lead the way
Sevenoaks U17s defeated old rivals Old Beccahamians on Sunday 15 nil to move up to second spot in the Kent League. A welcome return from county duty by Pettitt, Johnson and Thompson, combining well with returning Vincent and an inspired Foley, saw the pack bolstered, providing plenty of quality ball, which saw Beale scuttle over for the first try,
Strong Old Beccs defence and ill discipline from the home side kept the score to 5 nil at half time.
The second half saw the pack take control using the driving maul to gain territory and this pressure resulted in a well taken penalty by Saunders followed by a typical charge from Hadi, duly converted.
Old Beccs went in search of the try that would give them the bonus point, but the Sevenoaks defence remained strong, with Jack Walker, rounding off a great performance, combining with Shirtcliff to snuff out an attack on the line.
Next home league game V Westcombe Park on 22/11/09.
