Sevenoaks Academy 35 Aylesford U19 10

Academy prepare for National Cup with "Bulls" hit

Adam Field guided Sevenoaks Academy to a comfortable win over Aylesford with a stylish fly-half performance.

Newport chased a perfect kick and was too fast to let the fullback clear. Turnover ball was spun wide for McKenzie to touch down in the corner. Barry intercepted and scored from 60 metres which was matched by an interception try for Aylesford. Hook drove off the back of a tidy line-out for a try and Turvey ended a superb first half individual performance with a score after chipping ahead.

Alyesford responded well with committed forward drives closing the gap through two converted tries. Oaks always had a pace advantage but squandered several chances through handling errors.

Naismith won man-of-the-match with some dominant carries and Kedge terrified the defence running from deep scoring after a fine break by Walker.  Oaks settled the issue with a beautifully crafted try with Eakins bypassing Peters' dummy run to send Barber clear in the corner.

The Academy meet Sidcup at Home next week in the second round of the National Colts Competition.
