Academy

The Sevenoaks RFC Academy stands as the pinnacle of one of England's largest and most successful youth sections.

In May 2010, our Under 17's squad became the first side from the club AND KENT to win a National title.

The essence of the Sevenoaks RFC Academy is to provide our young players with a chance to dramatically improve their standard of rugby, give them exposure to elite rugby in senior clubs on a national level and provide a seamless transition between youth rugby and senior rugby. We also aim to instil in our Academy members a sense of pride in Sevenoaks RFC and also to reflect the high esteem in which we as a club hold our up-and-coming young players.

For the 2011/12 season the Sevenoaks RFC Academy will be competing in the following competitions:

Kent U17's Cup and League AND some high profile fixtures further afield

National U19s Cup

U18's & U19s - National Cup 1st rounds are on 25th Sept, 16th Oct, 20th Nov. Those not playing school 1st XV or at Uni, will be expected to play senior rugby for the club on Saturday afternoon's - speak to Mark Reay or Jon Muchmore. Post Christmas, National Cup mathces and friendlies will follow in addition to playing in an International tournament in Italy, at Easter.

There are four main elements that make the Sevenoaks Academy different from just another age-group squad:

1. Fixtures organised against senior clubs at U17 and U18 level on a nationwide basis.

2. Specialist and guest coaching, from SRFC senior coaches and other high profile coaches;

3. Organised integration with Sevenoaks RFC 1st , 2nd XV squad and Development squads.

4. Special equipment package with Sevenoaks RFC Academy branding.

Sevenoaks RFC has produced a host of international players at age group level and several who are now playing premiership rugby. We are firmly committed to the continued development of home-grown talent.
